Wholesale paper merchant offers a diverse range of paper products and related supplies. Operating throughout the Southwest, they serve both large and small printers, creative designers, and local artists.

Their business model focuses on selling at wholesale prices directly to businesses and individuals with printing and design needs, leveraging bulk purchases from manufacturers to provide competitive pricing.

Approach / Work done

A wholesale paper merchant requested an upgrade of their Magento platform, facing several critical issues:

Key Problems:

  • Broken Google Analytics integration, urgently needing repair.
  • Outdated Magento version requiring an upgrade.
  • Dysfunctional user interface in the “Products” section megamenu.
  • Future need for a unit of measure feature for paper products, though not immediate.

To address these issues, we proposed conducting a comprehensive Magento project audit to identify underlying problems. This audit process would provide a detailed analysis of the current implementation, revealing additional pain points and offering actionable recommendations.

We developed an incremental upgrade path to tackle critical issues systematically. The plan included fixing the Google Analytics integration, upgrading to the latest Magento version, and repairing the megamenu user interface in the “Products” section. We prioritized stabilizing fundamental functions before implementing more complex features like the unit of measure tool. This approach allowed for a thorough evaluation of the client’s unique situation and set clear expectations for improvements.

The audit’s findings will inform ongoing enhancements, providing a solid foundation for revitalizing the Magento environment and improving e-commerce capabilities. The focus remains on methodically addressing current issues while preparing for future innovations, ensuring a balance between immediate needs and long-term strategic goals.
